As you know if you read this blog, I’m a really big Perry Mason fan. I went into all that in this post about my summer vacation.
Now … just so happens that one of my favorite blogs, World O’ Crap, recently had a most awesome post about Perry Mason. I highly recommend you read it. You’ll notice it’s most cleverly written. And most definitely suitable for this blog, based upon the nature of the material, of course.
And the photos are simply amazing, aren’t they?
But wait! There’s more …
Surely you wouldn’t want to miss out on totally hilarious film reviews like this one and this one.
And, finally, and quite possibly the best part — Scott Clevenger getting into the spirit! #OccupySherlockHolmesbloodstream
Awesome!
World O’ Crap is, indeed, a blog of note and then some!

On behalf of Scott and myself, Greetings From Hollywood, and thanks for the kind words about what I was surprised to discover struck a chord with a number of previously undeclared, and in your case, undiscovered, Perry Mason fans.
In appreciation of your fulsome praise– and man, I have been dying to use that phrase since Burt Lancaster said it in “Seven Days in May”– here’s something I didn’t share with the Wo’C:
My father and Bill Hopper were prepschoolmates, and Dad confirmed to me long ago that yep, Hopper was already going gray in the hair then. That is to say, in his teens, for God’s sake. So help me.
Probably as a result of being Hedda’s kid, I always smirked.
You may have noticed an easy familiarity Scott and I have; we’re both in, and of, Hollywood. Scott’s a writer, I’m a video engineer (George Clooney is our sommelier tonight, and Christopher Walken handles the Dessert Cart. Enjoy!), and we often commiserate on on the silliness that is “the industry”– as we call it as if there were no other– from opposite ends of the production chain, and I’m pleased that we agree much more often than not.
By the way, doll face, I’m a hard-boiled detective fiction fan from way back, and wondering where would be a good place to start with your books.
Thanks again,
ChrisV

Well, holy world o’ crap!
This is awesome. Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comment, Chris.
I have two novels published in my hard-boiled mystery series, so far. The third will come out early next year.
The first book is called Identity Crisis and it hit the New York Times ebook bestseller list last March. The second book is Least Wanted. Both books have made the Kindle Top 100 on Amazon and Amazon UK. They’re both available in ebook, print or audio format.
I suppose you could say they’ve done pretty well.
The third book will be called Alien Shores.
My protagonist is a female lawyer named Stephanie Ann “Sam” McRae, who reminds me a lot of Perry Mason, actually. (While watching the show, I’ve noticed Perry saying things to Lt. Tragg that Sam would probably say to the police.) Except I don’t do courtroom stuff.
I tend to keep that kind of thing to a minimum and focus on the investigative parts.
I also have a short story anthology in ebook only format called Five Uneasy Pieces. My short stories have been featured in other anthologies, including Shaken: Stories for Japan, Chesapeake Crimes, and Chesapeake Crimes: They Had It Comin’. I also have a short story in Vol. III, No. 1 of The Back Alley: http://www.backalleywebzine.com/. That story was nominated for a Derringer.
All that and I’m terribly modest, too. lol
Cheers,
Debbi
