So … remember when I posted this notice saying “Last Call!” to get my books at 99 cents?
Well, Amazon made a liar out of me.
You see I raised the suggested retail price, but Amazon didn’t follow my suggestion. In fact, they’ve slashed the price right back to where it was.
For instance, here’s the link to IDENTITY CRISIS. See? The digital list price is $2.99, but marked down to 99 cents.
However, don’t cry too hard for me. As if, right? lol
Since I’ve suggested a retail price of $2.99, I get paid a higher royalty. So I still get a raise. Okay, it’s a much, much smaller raise, but even so.
I have no idea what’s up here, but maybe I missed the memo or something.
Meanwhile, I’ll just call it the blue light special, okay?
PS: Hey, what’s all this broo ha ha? I don’t suppose anyone from Amazon is standing on the balcony … hmm …
UPDATE: Okay, here’s the deal. Amazon has lowered the price to match that offered by these online retailers here and here, for instance. Now, I’ve been down this road before, and the price could eventually go up without my doing anything. Or not. I’m not quite sure how it works at this point. Anyway, that’s all I know. Just figured I’d pass that along, FWIW.
And I know I could pull the books out of distribution through those retailers, if I wanted to. So, yeah, I’m mulling it over, okay?
Meanwhile, you can rest assured you’ll always get the best bang for your buck with Amazon!

Is it priced 99 cents anywhere else? I know Amazon oftentimes will match the lowest price out there. Either way, at least you’re now making more money on each sale.

Not to the best of my knowledge, Neal. I could do some checking around and make sure. Thanks!
