Hello again. I can’t seem to stop blogging about other people’s books. Why do you suppose that is?

After all, isn’t this blog called MY Life on the Midlist? Big duh! Isn’t it all about me?

Well, no, actually. It isn’t. And it never really was, when you come down to it.

Is life or anything ever all about us? No man is an island, after all …

Okay, enough already! Who are you? Socrates? lol

I’m just an author trying to make a living off my books, not a freaking philosopher, okay? Jesus! Oops, it’s Easter! Did I just f*ck up again? lol

But I digress …

Here’s my point. What I wanted to say was there are books and there are books. And this book is special.

I wanted to tell you about the anthology BANGKOK NOIR because half the royalties from sales will go toward charities that work with Bangkok’s poorest kids.

You can learn more about the book and the cause by reading this post on Timothy Hallinan’s blog, because that’s where I found out about it and he says it so much better than I ever could.

And I’m not just saying this because Timothy Hallinan is (most deservedly) nominated for an Edgar for his really great (in my opinion) novel THE QUEEN OF PATPONG, which I’ve reviewed here.

I’m saying this because I think it’s important, it keeps me off the street (lol) and puts my own teeny little problems into perspective.
